Walk The South Downs
I did a lot of training and felt in good spirits as we set off. The walk was challenging as the terrain was steep in many parts, uneven ground and tiring with the 26 mile distance on a hot May day.
It made me think of the young carers that I was walking for. Their lives are rather like the walk.
Many ups and downs, uneven and challenging at times, seeming like a long way to go without much of a break.
I finished the walk with aching legs, a few blisters and a big smile... proud to have achieved my goal and proud to be able to help these amazing young carers take a much needed respite break.
